My favorite movie isn't even in English. It's in French. No, I don't speak French so I have to read the subtitles throughout the entire movie. I love it. There's something about it being in French that makes me love it even more. Amelie goes about each day trying to manipulate the world around her to improve the lives around her. I love that she thinks her neighbor who is in a coma, is getting her entire life's worth of sleep all at once. She thinks that records are made like crepes. Now everytime I eat creme brulee, I think of Amelie cracking the sugary top with the back of her spoon. Mmm..... creme brulee!
This is such a feel-good movie. I used to watch it twice in one day because it just would give me that pick-me -up that I needed. It's a sweet love story that I'm sure if you just give this movie a chance, you too will love it.
