Introducing: Bella Claire

We finally brought our puppy home Sunday night. She has taken every free moment I have had over these last few days. She loves to sleep. Keep in mind her blanket is a very tiny baby blanket and those are just standard sized pillows. She also loves to play with her teddy bear. She loves her blankie and can't be without it unless she is playing with teddy. She loves to be treated just like a baby. She loves to be snuggled. Thank you to everyone for your suggestions and support. It has helped SO much over these last few days. I can't wait for you all to meet her.

Too Tired!

I was with Leslie at Wal-Mart this last week and we had Taya in the cart, as you can see. She was apparently so tired that she kept doing the head bob. I was laughing so hard. I finally got my camera out and captured just a small portion of her being so, so tired.

Sundance Wrap-Up

If you have never been the film festival, I recommend you go at some point in your life. It was a lot of fun and a great experience.

Movie #2 was called Taking Chance. I cried through the entire movie. It was about a soldier that was killed in Iraq and everything they did to get his body home. It's just very touching to see how much respect everybody had for this white box and the escort taking the remains home. You all need to see this. Josh didn't like it, but Ryan and I thought it was quite moving.

Movie #3 was I Love You Phillip Morris. In this movie, Jim Carrey and Ewan McGregor are gay lovers. That's all I'm going to say. I didn't love this movie.

Our Newest Addition

Some may say we are completely crazy. I may have to agree with them after what I did tonight. I found this cutest puppy on KSL. We have been wanting a dog for years and we finally convinced everybody it was a good thing for us to do. Well, I went and held this baby tonight and just knew I had to have her. We don't have a name for her yet and I have no idea what I'm doing. What do you all think we should name her? Yes, it's a girl. Also, give me some suggestions on what I need and what I need to do. We are bringing her home next week so I can have some time to prepare for her to come home. Isn't she adorable?

Movie #1: Cold Souls

Last night we got to go to our first Sundance film of the season. We went to Cold Souls starring Paul Giamatti.

The night started off with me giving Ryan a tour of Trolley Square when we went to pick up our tickets. I showed him where the shootings took place. It was almost surreal to be in there after such an event.

After Trolley Square we headed to the Blue Iguana for some ultra delicous food. We absolutely love the Blue Iguana. They have the best salsa EVER!

After dinner we made our way to the Tower Theater on 9th and 9th and stood in the freezing cold until they let us in. The theather is the oldest theater still operating in SLC. It was built in 1921. It was kind of small, but it did the job. After the movie, the director did a Q&A session and everybody got to ask her questions about the movie. It was nice to get her take on why she did certain things in the movie. It made everything make a lot more sense.

Synopsis: Paul Giamatti who is an actor (yes, they use his real name in the movie) who gets down on life and decides there is no way he can go on living the way he is. He hears about "soul storage" in the New Yorker and decides to go try it out. They extract his soul, which is only the size and shape of a chick pea, and then let him store it in their local office. Anyway, his soul ends up getting stolen and he has to go find it in Russia. The movie is about him living without a soul and then using a borrowed soul so that he can at least have feelings. It's a very odd concept, but it was entertaining to say the least. If you like Paul Giamatti, you will like this movie. He really was what made the movie for me. I give this movie a 5/10.

This is what we call credentials. It gets me into parties, concerts, all sorts of good stuff. Ryan said he felt really cool wearing his around his neck all day. At least mine has my name on it instead of just saying "Guest" like his.

Q and A

Q: What shows are we going to at the film festival?
A: Cold Souls, Taking Chance and I Love You Phillip Morris

Q: What is Ryan going to Ecuador for?
A: He is going to be gone the entire month of May doing research for nursing down at the hospitals and clinics in Ecuador. I'm already kind of freaking out about it. What ever will I do with an entire month without him? Suggestions?

Sundance Film Festival

My brother and I decided that this year we were going to splurge and enjoy what Utah has to offer in the winter. No, not snow, the film festival! We usually attend some of the festivities throughout the 2-week festival, but this year we wanted to experience the films. We had fun picking out our films from an extensive list of what sound like great films. Sundance, here we come! Only 13 more days until our first screening!!!!
