Apparently my dog is an artist. When I first saw her pee art on the carpet, I literally started screaming. It was almost like the people who see Jesus on their toast. It was a pee dog on the carpet!! Are you kidding me? Yep, my dog really is that amazing. Don't worry, she doesn't always release herself on the floor. And yes, if you are wondering, that is a turd next to it.

The Big Move
I cannot believe that we have already been here in California for two weeks. Time is flying by. Before we know it, our two years here will be over. I need to catch up on some blogging, so I'm going to go back to our move...
It all started on a Saturday. I woke up early and got ready to move. I was determined to get it all done before noon. We had a ton of awesome helpers and we were so grateful to all who helped. It made the move go really fast!
My dad had told me to get a 17 foot truck. I assessed the truck size in my mind with all of our crap and decided a 20 foot truck would be better. It's a dang good thing I listened to my brain. Once we got all of our house outside, I thought there was no way it would all fit into our, what now seemed tiny, truck. My amazing father used his puzzle skills and wah lah, he got our entire house into a 20 foot truck with no room to spare. It was spectacular!
That night, we spent the night in Elk Ridge. We got to watch Salem's fireworks from my parent's deck. It was beautiful. It brought back a lot of memories of the year before when I sat there on their deck eating an omelet and watching the fireworks. I had just been released from the hospital a few hours earlier after one traumatic week. Memories flooded my mind at that moment.
Sunday, we woke up, and off we went! We had me, Ryan, Scarlie, Bella, Josh, Megan, Dad, Mom, and Neutron. We squished into the truck and Eduardo (the car), and we left. It was kind of sad saying good-bye to Utah, but at the same time, I knew our new adventure would be so worth it.
We drove down to St. George and stopped to see Ryan's dad. He had never met Scarlet and we wanted him to finally be able to see her. She went right to him and snuggled right into him like they had known each other for years. It was so special.
Sunday night we stayed in Mesquite. I think it was about 200 degrees outside. It was awful! To let off some steam, we decided to go bowling. It was a blast! Seriously so much fun. We all had matching shoes and I'm pretty sure we were the entertainment for all who were there.
Monday morning we woke up, ate a delicious breakfast and headed for our new home. It felt like it took forever to get here. I think I was just so excited to finally be here and get settled.
Once we arrived here, all of our neighbors stepped up and helped us move all of our stuff in. My family stayed for a few days and helped us get all settled. I'm beyond grateful for all of their help!
What a great way to start our adventure! We're so excited to be here and can't wait for all that is to come!
Oh, and Scarlet has discovered the stairs and how to undo her diaper. Lovely.

Quick Update
Well, we are here! Here in California and we are LOVING it! Scarlet and Bella have adjusted quite nicely. We finally have internet so I plan on posting some pics soon. Ryan starts school in just a couple of days. He'll do great. As for me, I have yet to get back to work, but plan to soon. I love hanging out with my little family and enjoy the warm weather here. Okay, warm is an understatement. It's HOT here, but I love it anyway.
More updates to come.... Oh, and Scarlet has discovered the stairs in our house. She absolutely LOVES to go up them. Coming down is a different story. She keeps attempting them head first. No worries, we supervise this activity 100% of the time.

Dear Scarlet -- 1 year
Dear Scarlet,
Today, you are a year old! My little 3 pound 12 ounce baby girl has grown into a whopping 15 pound 4 ounce little toddler. I remember the day you were born very well. In some ways it seems like it was just yesterday. It was such a rush. You came sooner than we wanted, but thankfully you were a fighter. You were born just two minutes after your brother, and you were much bigger than he was. You were the most beautiful baby in the entire world. You made me so happy. You still do.
I didn’t get to see you the day you were born for a really long time. I kept Kingston with me for quite a few hours because I knew that was all the earthly time I would have with him. I knew you were well taken care of by all the loving nurses and doctors in the NICU. Once Kingston left, I got to go see you. My heart melted. You were mine forever.
There was not a day that went by that you did not smile. You have always been the happiest baby! You have definitely brought so much joy into our home.
As a one year old, you love to eat. I don’t think you have a particular favorite food, you just like everything. We call you the garbage disposal because you just eat and eat. You’d think with all you eat that you would be a little bigger, but you’re not. You’re still very petite.
You are still in size 2 diapers and wear 6 month clothes. Some of your clothes are still 3-6 months. Like I said, you’re still very tiny. Your weight doesn’t even register on the charts yet. You are in the 0th percentile and always have been!
You are extremely active. You scoot-crawl everywhere and stand up next to anything you can. You will then traverse all along the furniture or walls and explore your world.
You and Bella are getting along great. You're sleeping well and learning to speak.
My mind is still in shock that you are a year old. How did that time pass so quickly? You are the most amazing child I have ever laid eyes on. I can hardly wait for all of our adventures in the future.
Love you forever and ever,
Mom
