The Belly.... 26 weeks and counting

Do I look pissed off enough in this picture? And notice Bella in the bottom. This is what she does when she wants to be held/picked up. What a baby. She was starting to freak out because she knew I was getting ready to leave the house. She has major separation anxiety.
We are officially passed the 26-week mark! I honestly didn't know if we would ever get here, but I feel great, the babies are growing well, and so are my cankles. I believe I have been possessed by Fred Flinstone. I have little sausage toes. I consider this sWHALE Watch 2010. You can often find me "beached" at the pool on these hot days. I probably scare my neighbors and their children, but I don't care. The water feels divine! I hope that I can keep feeling great and that the babies can continue to grow well. Each week that goes by I feel is a huge milestone with this pregnancy, so with that being said, HAPPY 26 WEEKS and counting!

Here we go again....

This morning we got to go to perinatology again and have yet another ultrasound to monitor the growth of the mini humans. Four weeks ago they were both around 10 oz. Today, the boy is 1 lbs. 2 oz. and the girl is 1 lbs. 6 oz. They doubled in size in 4 weeks! Can you believe it? Here we go..... Up to the 5th floor..... This is what happens when you work the graveyard shift, go to bed at 7:40 a.m. and wake up at 9:00 a.m. to go back to the hospital for the ultrasound. Poor guy. He's such a good sport to support me through all of this, even when he's running off of no sleep. This is one reason he is so easy to love. Don't worry, he's sound asleep now and I'm sure he will be that way for a while.

Have I mentioned how much I love our perinatologist? Dr. S. is the most amazing doctor ever. He takes time to explain everything he is looking at, his concerns, his findings, everything. I also feel like he is very respectful to our situation. Our little girl is still just as perfect as ever and beautiful in black and white. She's getting big! She decided to suck her little fist for us today too, which I adore. Oh, I love her! Of course our little boy was in the most awkward position ever, like always. We saw his beautiful spine, which we haven't been able to see real well in the past. He even opened his mouth for us too. His bladder and kidneys are continually growing larger by the day. It's so sad to see him in that condition. It took all I had to hold in the tears when they turned the sound on for his heart beat. It was beautiful. These 2 babies are truly miracles in our life and we are so grateful to be their parents. Thank you God, for giving us such an amazing opportunity!

Ryan's Birthday

On Ryan's birthday, we went to Texas Roadhouse for his birthday dinner. It was delicious! We ate so much food. I was honestly ready to blow up after we ate because I just couldn't stop eating. It all tasted too good. We had never been there before, but I'm sure one day we will go back.
My parents threw him a little birthday celebration over the weekend. He requested his favorite for dinner, salmon with dill sauce. I could do without it, but hey, it's not my special day. I think Ryan ate 3 pieces of the salmon before he finally decided to stop. He requested a "better than sex" cake for his birthday cake made by yours truly. I even got to use my new cake decorating tips to frost it. Very unprofessional, but it tasted good anyway! It totally looked like his cake was on fire with all of the candles, 31 to be exact.

This day in 1979....

The Billboard #1 song was: Hot Stuff by Donna Summer

The #1 box office movie was: Alien

And the cutest blond-haired, blue-eyed baby boy was born (probably much like Alien, but I think he's pretty "Hot Stuff"). I really wish I had a picture of Ryan as a baby so you could all see what I'm talking about.

Happy Birthday Ryan!! Bring on the birthday celebrations!

Memorial Day

Memorial Day weekend was a blast! We enjoyed Saturday night and Sunday with my Dunn side of the family up at Lodgepole Campground up by Heber. Sleeping in a trailer on a tiny bed with Ryan was interesting and I felt horrible everytime I would move, but we made it through the night. It was a beautiful weekend for camping and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

On the actual Memorial Day, we made our way to the cemetary to visit Ryan's brother, Chad. I never knew him, but I can always feel the hurt when we visit his grave. I'm sure the day Chad passed away is not a day that Ryan likes to reflect on often. I wish I knew Chad in this life, but I'm sure he is up in heaven with our little ones watching over us. We miss you Chad!
