Pregnancy Update -- 20 weeks

How far along? 20 weeks
Weight gain/loss: As of 2 weeks ago, I had gained 2 pounds
Maternity clothes? Still no.
Stretch marks? The skin gods have been good to me.
Sleep? Ahhhhh.... sleep.
Best moment this week? I've had lots of good moments this week. Maybe when the perinatologist looked at Tiny Todd and told me he can find absolutely NOTHING wrong with him!! It feels so good to get good news!
Food cravings: Chocolate cake with chocolate frosting. I had to settle for red velvet tonight since the store didn't have the particular chocolate on chocolate I was hoping for. Yes, I could make my own, but then I run the risk of eating the entire thing. Then I'd cry.
Gender: Still a boy!
Belly button in or out? In, but starting to flatten.
Movement? Tiny Todd has started to tickle me. Sounds weird, and I didn't know that that was entirely possible, but apparently it is.
What I miss? Acid-free esophagus.
What I'm looking forward to: Getting the kids' room ready! I have already ordered Scarlet's bedding ($20!!!! What a steal!). Still get to do a little painting, move Scarlet to her "big girl" bed, and rearrange. I'm excited though! I can't believe we have another baby on the way!

Pregnancy Update

(This picture was mid-bite of cheesecake and me telling Ryan, "no, not ready yet." Apparently that's as good as it's going to get)

How far along? 17 weeks
Weight gain/loss: No idea
Maternity clothes? The stretchy band pants are still too big, so no, no maternity clothes yet.
Stretch marks? None.
Sleep? I'm a pro at sleeping!
Best moment this week? Watching Ryan watch our baby on the ultrasound.
Food cravings: Cheesecake
Gender: Boy!
Belly button in or out? Still in
Movement? This little guy is super wiggly! He's always be-bopping around!
What I miss? I miss my pain-free pelvis. It's always a good time when you feel like a giant just stepped on your pelvis.
What I'm looking forward to: Eating food!

Tiny Todd or Tiny Tiff?

While in Utah, we had the opportunity to do a gender ultrasound. I'm scheduled for the real one in January, but I was sad that Ryan wasn't going to be able to be there because of his ultra busy schedule.

I had already gotten to see our little babe on a couple of occasions up to this point, but Ryan had not. I was so excited for him to see our little floater on the ultrasound. It was also proof that I wasn't just making up my sickness and being so tired all the time, and that there was actually a little human in my belly.

I always thought this baby was a boy. Ryan always wanted it to be a girl. When we came home from the ultrasound, we separated pick and blue skittles into two bowls. Whichever color my family found more of was supposed to be the gender of the baby. Too bad Ryan counted his blue color wrong or it would have actually worked. There ended up being more pinks than blues, so the family thought it was a girl for a split second until I freaked out.

Well, needless to say, I'm right. Tiny Todd really is a Tiny Todd and not a Tiny Tiff. He was not shy at all when it came to showing off his goods. We couldn't be more thrilled to be welcoming this new little guy into our family.

Christmas -- Part 3

Christmas evening is when we get to go to Grandma Hone's house and have the Hone Pinata Party. I think this is every grandkid's favorite thing about Christmas. What's better then spending time with your cousins, eating french dips and shrimp, and getting spoiled rotten by grandma? Not much really. This is really such a fun tradition in our family. Each year, grandma picks a theme for the kids to dress up as. Last year it was the reindeer antlers. This year, elf ears. Scarlet LOVED hers. She stills wants to put them on everyday.

Last year (2010)

This year (2011)

Scarlet was so thrilled with the idea of hitting a moving/flying object with a stick. She got to watch the boys do it first. With each hit, she would clap and scream. She loved it. She was even more excited when we let her have a go at it! She would take the bat, hit the pinata, drop the bat, and clap for herself. It was really quite adorable (check out the transparent bat! I have no idea why it did that).

Just some good old fashioned grandma/granddaughter time.

Once upon a time when our nephew, Austin (pictured), was about Scarlet's age, he laid on Ryan's back just like this. Now we have our little Scarlet on Austin being such a little poser.

Christmas -- Part 2

I was so excited for Christmas this year. I thought Scarlet would be super excited about the gifts and candy that she got. Well, apparently when she has to be woken up at 6:30, she's not too thrilled. When we took her to the Christmas tree, she just laid on the couch, face down, and wouldn't move. After a while, she kind of got into it and it was a good time had by all. Scarlet was spoiled rotten.

For the fifth year in a row, we gave my parents "the fudge bear" (you can see my dad attempting to take a bite). My mom was so upset that she didn't get to it before any of us. It lives in the freezer all year round and only comes out when we give it to our parents for their gift. Don't worry, it's not their real gift. We usually get them season tickets to the theater. Once again, we got it for them. They claim it is the best gift they have ever gotten since they get to use it all year long. I have actually enjoyed it too since on occasion I will get to go to a show with them.

After presents, we got dressed and ready for 9:00 church. Scarlet looked like a babe. After a wonderful Christmas meeting, we came home and had an egg casserole, bacon, and other deliciousness with all of my siblings. It was the perfect Christmas day!

That wasn't the end to our Christmas day. Nope, just the beginning. The rest will follow in its own very special post.
