5 years

Wow! I cannot believe that 5 years ago today we were married. The time has flown. Never in a million years would I have imagined we have gone through all we have in the last 5 years. Some good, some bad. I guess that's what you call life. I feel so blessed that Ryan finally decided to marry me after we dated for so long. I love him more today than I did 5 years ago and I know my love for him will continue to grow. This year is definitely a special one for us.
Things we have done in the last 5 years:
  • Went to the Western Caribbean.
  • Ryan went skydiving.
  • We spent a month apart, Ryan in Ecuador, me in Utah.
  • Moved 3 times.
  • Lived with both my parents and his mom.
  • Ryan got accepted, attended, and now graduated the nursing program.
  • Ryan started his job with IHC.
  • I switched jobs from IHC to HCA.
  • Went to Colorado.
  • Attended many, many concerts.
  • Worked as primary workers for most of our marriage.
  • Met some wonderful new friends.
  • Attempted in vitro fertilization and were successful!
  • And the list goes on and on.

I'm so happy to be where I am with my life today. We have been so blessed. Happy anniversary Ryan!

A day of anticipation

Disclaimer: I normally would not have announced this until I was further along, but since we have had so many loved ones waiting for this news, we have decided to let the world know. Please keep praying for a healthy baby/pregnancy.

Well, it has finally come. Today was our big day. I couldn't sleep all night last night. The alarm went off bright and early and off we went. The trip to SLC was horrendous this morning. The roads were pure ice. It was a very tense morning on top of already being a tense morning. After they drew my blood we went to my brother's house to help him move. I was glad I had something to keep my mind off of just waiting for the phone call with the test results. I kept thinking I just wanted to get home because if it came back negative I would be a mess. We waited and waited all morning. Finally as I was bringing some power strips into Josh's house I could hear Ryan say, "you're kidding." I didn't know who he was talking to but I could hear the excitement in his voice. He turned around and saw me and said, "we're pregnant!" I fell to the floor and started crying. I couldn't believe it! I got up and put my arms around my love and held him. Then I talked briefly with the sweet nurse who was very excited for us as well. My dad walked in and all I could say to him was, "it's positive!" He gave me a huge hug. It was all just a very exciting and unreal moment. We are still in complete shock. The only bad thing is I still have to do these evil shots for 6 more weeks, but I'm sure it's all going to be well worth it.

Thank you all for your prayers and support. It has made this process much easier to deal with. I'm sorry if we couldn't call all of you today to tell you the news in person.

Friday Night Fun

What do you do when it's really snowy on a Friday night? Here's what we did. We braved the snow storm and went to Border's. There was a book that I had been wanting for a while and I finally had a coupon. I know, cheap skate. I literally slid into the store because there was so much snow outside. I grabbed the book I wanted and then went to the cafe for some delicous warm, steamy goodness. Ryan was stuck in the health section of course. Not sure what he was looking for but he did find some interesting pictures. I found the perfect spot to sit, right in the middle of the store. I love to people watch and tonight did not disappoint. I saw the awkward couple who you know don't have kids and who probably met on the internet. Then there was the indy kid with long curly hair and the gorgeous Asian girlfiend. She had a very cute outfit on and her hair was long, dark and beautiful. Then I saw the lonely older lady. She came in with a beany on and her hair braided in 2 long braids down to her hips. I often wonder what kinds of lives these people have. What do they go home to? I fell in love with this little lady. Then came the zoobie roommates chatting about their facebook status from last week. I just had to laugh at them. Am I awful?

Does anybody else do this or is it just me?

Lack of posting

Sorry for no posts on this blog lately. It seems we have been focusing all of our time on in vitro lately. Take a look! Hopefully soon our lives will be back to normal and we'll have something to blog about other than shots, procedures, and doctors.
